AKWA IBOM STATE YOUTH CAUCUS AND YOUTH COUNCIL INAUGURATED

GOV. UDOM PLEDGES TO PARTNER WITH AKWA IBOM YOUTH

The governor of Akwa Ibom State, Deacon Udom Emmanuel yesterday reiterated his administration commitment to partner with the youth so as to improve their standard of living and make them responsible and productive members of their communities. The governor made the assertion at the inauguration of National Youth Council of Nigeria, Akwa Ibom State Chapter and Akwa Ibom State Youth Caucus.

Governor Emmanuel stated that youth are partners in the business of governance hence his administration resolved to build their capacity. While inaugurating the Akwa Ibom State Youth Caucus led by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Matters, Comrade Aniefiok Iwaudofia, the Governor thanked youth for maintaining peace in the state and advised them to served as volunteers on security issues. He advised the youth to maintain the peaceful disposition that Akwa Ibom people are known for and frown at statement that certain folks does not have political value. 

Governor Udom advised the youth to be focus and not distracted, maintaining that he will continue to partner with them for a progressive Akwa Ibom State and urged them to reciprocate the gesture as to whom much is given much is expected.

Declaring the event open, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Matters and the newly inaugurated State Chairman of Akwa Ibom State Youth Caucus, Comrade Aniefiok Iwaudofia thanked the governor for the confidence he has bestowed on the youth of Akwa Ibom State and promised that the youth will stand with him to re-elect him as governor in 2019 election.

"Your Excellency, these are the Youth that do election in Akwa Ibom State. Your Excellency, in 2013, these youth seated here returned Obong Victor Attah for second term. Your Excellency, in 2011, these same youth seated here returned Chief Godswill Akpabio for second term. Your Excellency, come 2019, these same youth seated here will return you for a second term in office", he submitted. 

Comrade Iwaudofia appealed to the Governor to renew the social contract he has with the youth of Akwa Ibom State by appointing them into sensitive government positions, and therefore demanded for buses for mobility.
