EKET ELDERS PARLEYS WITH INDIGENOUS JOURNALISTS

*** Advocates for Issue Based Journalism Some selected elders from Eket local government area of Akwa Ibom State today meet with some indigenous Journalists from Eket to strengthen relationship in projecting the area in good light. Declaring the meeting open, the political leader of Eket and former Minister of Housing, Chief Nduese Essien advocated for Journalists from Eket axis to abide by the ethics of the profession and project the area in good light, as Eket people have been outstanding in everything that they do. He advised the Journalists to get involved in issue based journalism which will bring investors and development to the area rather than engage in yellow journalism which are not sustainable. As government that is closer to the people, the impact of local government administration should be felt especially by people who residents in villages and hamlets, but that is not the case. MBONG FAMILY GAVE OUT DAUGHTER HAND IN MARRIAGE TO IMOH ENEH

The family of Okon Mbong of Atabong community in Eket Local Government Area today give their daughter, Miss Elizabeth Mbong hand in marriage to Master Imoh Eneh of Mbiokporo in Nsit Ibom Local Government Area all in Akwa Ibom State. Declaring the event open, the Chairman of the Occasion, Elder Benjamin Udobia appreciate the couple for accepting to lived together as husband and wife, advising that marriage is not for children but for matured people who are ready to take responsibilities. He urged them to put God ahead of everything they do and prayed for their union to be fruitful. Speaking on behalf of the bride parents, the representative of the father, Obong Iwaad Emmanuel Mbong who is the Chapter Chairman of PDP in Eket advised the couple to lived together as brother and sister praying God to bless their marriage with children.
